The Arabesque Sconces are stunning lights with a few small challenges. On the plus side, they’re heavy cast metal and nicely figured, with incised candle cups and back plates. Their surface is in great shape, having been repainted in burnished gold with green and purple accents. New sockets and candle covers set these lights up for many more years of reliable service. The Arabesque Sconces are about 15 inches tall when bulbs are taken into account and about 9 inches wide. On the down side, each appears to have an old break at the center top. The new paint, however, minimizes the damage. The back plate that connects to the front of one of the sconces also has some breaks. These breaks are hard to spot and don’t affect the functionality of the light. Finally, with the way they’re configured, it’s been difficult getting these sconces to install tightly to the wall. Despite these mostly minor issues, the Arabesque Sconces offer a look and quality not seen in modern lighting. If you’d like to add a Moorish touch to your decor, these lights would certainly fit the bill.
