Description
No grizzly bear attack here, but something almost as bad for an antique light: careless storage. La Revenant came to Old West Coast in sorry shape: bent side arms, rusted-in screws, and frozen candle sockets. She looked like she’d spent the last few decades in a barn being tossed hither and fro. So it’s been a process getting her back into showcase shape. This heavy brass chandelier features medieval motifs on its side arms (a shield, axe and sword), a twisting center stem, and interesting finials at both top and bottom. She has a drop of 30 inches and measures about 19 inches across. A few quirks remain from La Revenant’s hard life: a very slight wavy bend in the top finial and some small bits of corrosion here and there on the finish. Other than that, her return is a testament to what a little well-placed love and care can do.
