The Melodylite–a brand name, not something made up by us here at Old West Coast–is exactly what you’d want in a light from the 1950s: spare, utilitarian, practical. Put out by the Venetian Blind Manufacturers, one of its perks is it can be mounted anywhere, as long as there’s a receptacle within reach of its 10-foot-cord. The sea-green plastic coils around the light are in good shape with only a couple of minor blemishes. The fixture is about 9 inches tall and does have some bits of paint loss. Be aware that the Melodylite is a mood setter, a piece meant to lend a warm hue to a jet-setting round of drinks or an intimate boudoir.
