With Moe’s Web, we got a good surprise, something almost as big as the one provided by the enterprising spider in that children’s novel. Once the layers of dirt were washed away on this polychrome antique, we found the imprint: Moe Light Fixture Company. So when we started thinking about what to name the piece, it was another happy accident that the chandelier was imprinted with webs! Moe’s Web is done up in muted gold, reds and blues, and its surface is in good condition, with only minor paint loss. The ceiling cap is exceptionally ornate, its stem features a flower-and-bead pattern, and the bottom tassel is bigger than typically seen. And then there are those webs, topping the light sockets, above the bottom tassel and at the base of the ceiling cap. This light measures about 17 inches across and about 17 inches tall. It is a trick to hang, so be sure to have help. We’ll even sell it to you without any spiders!
