Description
The beauty of the Simple Splendor lies in the contrast of its pieces. Its five sweeping, austere arms are the first element to grab your attention. What a plain little chandelier, might be your first reaction. But a closer look reveals there’s a lot more to this brass antique than first meets the eye. The bobeches encircling the bulbs are each impressed with a delicate design, and swinging in the center of the light is something reminiscent of a brass plumb-bob, its rope-like design twisting upwards. And the higher you go, the better it gets. A crown-like centerpiece with flower motifs sits atop the arms, all topped by a ceiling canopy impressed with similar elements. The finish of the Simple Splendor is good; the ceiling cap, however, has a small dent in it. The light has a drop of 17.5 inches and is about 21 inches wide. The stark dignity of the Simple Splendor makes it good choice for a room where lighting should compliment, not overwhelm, other design elements.
