It’s doubtful this little gem will ever see the inside of a darkroom again, but that doesn’t mean it’s outlived it usefulness! The Wratten Safelight, Series OA is one of three safelights at Old West Coast and is a rare find. Its possible uses are many: accent light for a home bar, nightlight for safe passage after hours, or even as a signal to find your way home (think clamming, at night, on a long, dark beach). Here’s what the light’s front label says: “Use 10-watt bulb only for Direct Light or a 25-watt bulb for Indirect Light. For use with Velox Rapid, Bromide, Kodabrom, Translate, De Luxe Ad-Type, De Luxe Grade F, Portrait Proofing, Vitava Opal, and Projection Papers, Lantern Slide (Medium and Contrast) Plates, and Kotava Safety Positive Film.” The Series OA has a plywood housing with a light finish. All aspects of this light are in great shape, including its original wiring and box finish. Get all three and be able to develop any film under the sun!
